All the materials required to apply to First Montessori School of Atlanta may be found in the Applications For Enrollment section. In addition to the required written materials, a separate parent interview and child interview are required. After all the required materials are received in the office an admission team member will contact you to set up your interviews.
Completing the application process:
Tours
- Observe and participate in an informational tour of the school. This tour is for adults only. You may call for an appointment. 404-252-3910 ext. 215 or email our Director of Admission at admission@firstmontessori.org.
Submit the application
- Complete the application form and send it to FMSA with the non-refundable $75.00 application fee. Applications for the 2011-2012 school year must be postmarked before February 15. Applications received after that date will be considered after the first round of admission decisions are made.
- Make a copy for yourself
- Add a small passport size picture of your child to the front of the application. (Optional)
Request school records
- Transcript release form---Fill out and sign--Give to your child’s current school (for students 5 yrs. & older)
- Teacher evaluation forms—Fill out and sign—Give to your child’s current teacher (for students 5 yrs. & older)
Application
- Applications and fees must be received by the Admission office before Child or Parent Interviews will be scheduled.
Interviews
- Toddler Program (1 ½ – 2 ½ years old) You and your child will have a short visit with the Toddler teacher.
- Primary Program (2 ½ - 6 years old): An interview will be scheduled for your child with the teaching staff. Admittance for Primary students is contingent upon the child being independent in the bathroom and upon school readiness, which is determined by the interviewing teacher. The admission staff will meet with you at another time for the parent interview.
- Elementary Program (6 - 12 years old): Your child will have a short interview with a member of the faculty. Additionally, your child may be invited to spend a day in an Elementary classroom. You will meet with the admission staff for a parent interview at another time.
- Middle School Program (age 12 - 14): Your student will be invited to spend a day in the Middle School. Parent interviews are conducted by the admission and teaching staff at another time. Our Middle School is a two year program with admittance being offered only at 7th grade.
Notification of admission determination will be mailed the 1st Friday in April, in keeping with AAAIS guidelines.
