Year Founded:
1963, the oldest Montessori school in the Southeast

Location:
Sandy Springs, Georgia, just inside Metro Atlanta’s I-285 “Perimeter”, in a quiet, residential area on seven wooded acres

Structure:
Designated as a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Trustees and led by a Head of School

Accreditations:

  • AMI – Association Montessori Internationale
  • SAIS – Southern Association of Independent Schools
  • SACS – Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

Membership:

  • AAAIS – Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools 

Faculty Distinctions:
Average of 14 years classroom experience; 56% hold Masters degrees; all Primary and Elementary teachers hold AMI teaching certificates in addition to Bachelor’s degrees.

Number of Students:
250 total, with almost 50% coming from international/ethnic backgrounds

Number of Multi-Age Classrooms:
12 total

  • 1 Toddler (ages 1 ½ to 2 ½)
  • 5 Primary (ages 2 ½ to 6+)
  • 3 Lower Elementary (ages 6 to 9)
  • 2 Upper Elementary (ages 10-12)
  • 1 Middle School (ages 13-14, grades 7-8)

Hours of Operation:

  • Toddler (ages 1 ½ to 2 ½): 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Half Day Primary (ages 2 ½ to 4): 8:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
  • Full Day Primary (ages 4 to 6+): 8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  • All Day Primary (ages 2 ½ to 6+): 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Lower Elementary: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Upper Elementary: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Middle School: 8:30 a.m. – 3: 15 p.m.
  • Elementary & Middle School After-School Enrichment: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m
