In addition to setting tuition to include all expenses except personal and optional fees, the tuition setting philosophy of First Montessori is to have a simple structure with few step increases across the 12 ages served. Using the simplified fee structure, families enrolling multiple students or experiencing hardship are encouraged to apply for Financial Aid. First Montessori has been fortunate to increase the number of awards by more than double over the past 3 years and strives to continue this trend.
The Financial Aid process is confidential, utilizing a 3rd party financial aid evaluation service selected by the school. School and Student Service (SSS), is currently sed as the independent service to analyze financial need and to make a recommendation regarding an award. The most recent IRS form 1040 is needed to complete the process. Applications are made online at www.sss.nais.org Our SSS site ID is 1188. Applications can also be obtained from the Business Office.
Deadline and notification dates
Applications are due by February 15th for the upcoming school year. Awards are communicated to families in March and responses to the school are due no later than April 15th each year. The range of awards is between 5% and 50%, however there is no guarantee of an award and applications must be submitted annually for reconsideration.
Tuition deposit and payment plan
Families who have applied for an award may return re-enrollment contracts and defer tuition deposit payment until award notifications are made.
Families receiving an award may utilize any of the payment options offered by First Montessori. Various payment plans administered by FACTS Tuition Management are available. Families who wish to utilize a payment plan may need to begin payment as early as April in order for final payment to be received by December, in accordance with First Montessori's standard practice. For those who select to pay in a lump sum, a 2% discount is available if tuition is paid by June 1st each year. If not utilizing a payment plan, tuition is due in full by July 15th each year.
