Update on Past Projects

First Montessori’s Capital Campaign, Bringing Nature, Nurture and Knowledge to Life, was launched in 2006 in order to raise funds for Phase I of the Campus Master Plan. Construction began in the summer of 2007 on two new buildings and on related campus improvements, including additional parking. Now the Elementary classroom building includes all Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary classes along with Middle School's Humanities program. The new Media Center building houses the printed library collection and includes a conference/meeting room.

Both buildings were designed in keeping with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) specifications. Exterior “green” features include geothermal heating and cooling, a highly reflective roof system, solar shading screens, and windows with a special ultraviolet rating. Interior “green” features include low VOC paints and floor finishes, and recycled content floor tiles. The classrooms incorporate a lot of natural light and elements from the outside world, reflecting Montessori’s focus on nature.

Capital Campaign donations have been generously made by current parents, past parents, Trustees, Alumni, Faculty/Staff, Grandparents, Friends, Neighbors and Foundations. The school accepts checks, appreciated securities and cash donations to the Capital Campaign.
