Art Instruction
The Art Specialist provides instruction with a variety of art materials, techniques and subject matter in order to promote critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. First Montessori’s supportive learning environment allows teachers and peers to help students talk about their art and other people’s art. The Art program also features:
- Open studio time for Elementary and Middle School students to work on individual projects
- Small group lessons relating to subjects taught in the classroom
- Group projects related to class, opera and school-wide events
- Art history and technique lessons to Middle School students
- Special art classes after school as part of Elementary Enrichment offerings
- Assistance to teachers on all levels
